Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 11, 2026

Our Commitment

Recipe Manager is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our platform inclusive.

Conformance Standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following features to support accessibility:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable using keyboard-only navigation
  • Screen reader support: Pages use semantic HTML elements and ARIA labels so assistive technologies can accurately interpret content
  • Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements (at least 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Reduced motion: Animations and transitions respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query for users who prefer less motion
  • Skip-to-content link: A skip navigation link is provided to bypass repeated navigation elements
  • Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, lists, and form labels throughout the application
  • ARIA labels: Interactive components include appropriate ARIA attributes to convey their purpose and state
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines are provided on all interactive elements for keyboard users
  • Responsive design: The interface adapts to different screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:

  • User-uploaded recipe images may lack descriptive alt text; we encourage users to add descriptions when uploading
  • Some third-party embedded content (e.g. payment forms via Stripe) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control
